Volunteer Positions

These volunteer positions below are to support Riverside Crew. These are in addition to the VASRA weekly regatta volunteer requirements. For more information about any of these positions or if you would like to volunteer, please complete the form at the bottom of the page or contact info@riversiderow.org.

      Fundraising Chair: Anne Anderson

      • Arranges for Corporate Sponsorship Program, Yard Signs and Pancake Breakfast

      Hospitality #1:  Courtney Sieger

      • Organizes donations for our rower tent during regatta season.

      Hospitality #2:  Jenny Blair

      • Organizes donations for our rower tent during regatta season.

      IT Admin: Jeffrey McAvoy

      • Manages Riverside Crew Microsoft Office 365 environment

      Post-Season Regatta Operations:  Vacant

      • Organizes and manages post-season away regattas such as food donations, volunteers, chuck wagon, etc.

      Regatta Photographer: Josh Steele

      • Takes photos and videos at regattas during the season.

      Registrar: Joni Clifford

      • TeamLinkt administrative and registration support

      Social Media Manager: Sonia McAvoy

      • Posta and maintains the team’s various social media accounts.

        Spirit Wear/Uniforms Store Manager: Nicole Flannigan

        • Updates and maintains inventory of our spirit wear items

        Team Events: Vacant

        • Coordinates team parties and other non fundraising events.

        EVENT SUPPORT 

        • Back to School Orientation – Club Fair (Late August) 
        • Crew interest Meeting T-Shirt Sales (Mid-October) 
        • Pancake Breakfast (Late September/Mid-October) 
        • Crew Open House (Early September/October) Each fall, the Riverside Crew hosts an open house at Algonkian for everyone interested in learning more about the Crew team. Volunteers are needed to set up the event, clean up afterwards, and to greet guests and answer their questions about crew. 
        • Spring Season Kickoff Meeting T-shirt Sales (Late February/Early March) Riverside Crew kicks off the season with a meeting to go over essential information for the upcoming season. The meeting is mandatory for rowers and at least one parent/guardian. Volunteers are needed to set up, sell riverside swag, and clean up after.  
        • Tag Day (Late February/Early March) Tag Day is our newest fundraiser. On a Saturday, Crew athletes will canvas the neighborhoods in One Loudoun, Lansdowne and Belmont, requesting donations for the Crew Program. Adults drive two to four athletes to pre-arranged neighborhoods. Athletes will go door-to-door in pairs. Tags are hung on doors where no one is home, giving the fundraiser its name.  Volunteer drivers will be able to choose a morning, afternoon, or full day shift.  ALL ATHLETES ARE EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE FOR THE ENTIRE DAY. 
        • Stotesbury Regatta (Mid-May) Riverside attends the regional Stotesbury Regatta in Philadelphia. Volunteers are needed for: 
          • Driving the Chuckwagon
          • Hospitality Tent set up, serving, and cleanup
          • Cooks
          • Chaperoning 
        • SRAA Nationals (Memorial Day Weekend) Should any of Riverside Crew qualify for Nationals in Camden, NJ. Volunteers are needed for: 
          • Driving the Chuckwagon
          • Hospitality Tent set up, serving, and cleanup
          • Cooks
        • End of Season Banquet (Late May/early June) Volunteers are needed for setup and decoration, cleanup, and serving.
